eSIM installed but no internet? Turn on data roaming, select the travel line for mobile data, restart, and check APN. Step-by-step for iPhone and Android with RoameSIM.

Updated: 26 August, 2026 RoameSIM Team Troubleshooting

TL;DR: If your eSIM is installed but you have no internet, fix settings before you delete anything. Enable Data Roaming on the travel line, set that line for Mobile Data, toggle airplane mode, then check coverage and APN.

What “installed but no internet” usually means

The profile is on your phone, but the device is not routing data through it. That is a settings or coverage issue, not a broken QR. Most travellers fix it in under five minutes.

Fix checklist (do these in order)

  1. Confirm you are in a covered country for your RoameSIM plan.
  2. Turn the eSIM line On in Cellular / SIMs.
  3. Select the eSIM for Mobile Data (keep home SIM for calls if you want).
  4. Enable Data Roaming on the eSIM line only.
  5. Airplane mode On for 30 seconds, then Off. Wait up to two minutes.
  6. Test with Wi‑Fi Off so you are not masking the problem.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my eSIM installed but I have no internet?

Usually data roaming is off, the wrong SIM is selected for mobile data, or you are not yet in a covered country. Enable roaming on the eSIM line, set it as the data line, then toggle airplane mode.

Does a travel eSIM need data roaming?

Yes. Travel eSIMs connect through partner networks abroad, so Data Roaming must be ON for the eSIM line (not your home SIM).

Should I delete and reinstall if there is no internet?

No. Deleting can burn the QR. Fix settings first. Contact support if the profile never registered on a network.

iPhone shows the eSIM but Safari will not load?

Confirm Mobile Data uses the RoameSIM line, Data Roaming is On, Low Data Mode is off, and Limit IP Address Tracking is off on that line.
